The emission estimation was carried out by combining the diurnal information of fires detected by a geostationary satellite, Himawari-8, and the fire radiative power (FRP) detected by a high-resolution polar-orbiting satellite, VIIRS-SNPP....During the initial and subsequent year of the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a substantial increase in fire activity and the resulting emissions from shifting cultivation prevalent areas of NEI.

Clinical studies indicate that fire needling acupuncture can alleviate joint stiffness, pain, and dysfunction in KOA....This study aimed to evaluate the therapeutic effects of fire needling acupuncture on subchondral bone in KOA....Methods: Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into three groups: control (CON), monosodium iodoacetate (MIA), and fire needling acupuncture (FNA) (n=6 per group)....Additionally, TRAP, CD31/Emcn, and VEGF expression in subchondral bone decreased following fire needling acupuncture....Keywords: cartilage degradation; fire needling acupuncture; knee osteoarthritis; macrophages polarization; subchondral bone angiogenesis. © 2025 Wei et al.

The aniline point was found to be 55.4 g/cm3, the fire point and the flash point were 52.2 °C and 49.6 °C, respectively, while the cetane number was determined to be 51.3.

There is growing interest in diversifying human-managed fire regimes. In many North American grasslands, late growing season burns re-introduce fire to periods most prone to lightning-driven fire prior to wildfire suppression policies....We report here on restoring summer fire in central North Dakota, USA, from a research project in which summer burns were only completed in two out of four years for which summer burns were planned....We use remotely-sensed imagery and local weather data to assess whether fuel or weather conditions limited burning in the summer, and to compare fire environmental conditions and subsequent burn severity across prescribed burns conducted in the spring and summer....Overall, we found little evidence that being able to complete summer burns was anomalous, and conclude that it is reasonable for managers to incorporate late growing season fire into prescribed fire programs with the caveat that some summers will simply be too wet and/or too green to burn.

This study implements the APIFLAME fire emissions model, the EDGAR anthropogenic emission inventory, the WRF weather prediction model, and the CHIMERE chemical transport model to simulate air quality during wildfires....Given limited ground-based observations, future work should evaluate updated satellite datasets and refine fire emission estimates.

Along with the simulation in the WRF-Chem model, we used Sentinel-5P satellite data for analyzing pollutants during excessive fire events in Nepal. Comparison was done between the concentration obtained from numerical modeling with the satellite observation....Simulation was done for December 2021 using the Fire Inventory from NCAR (FINN) fire emissions dataset, and other anthropogenic emission data. Maximum fire contribution in December 2020 was about 120% increase in NO2, 48% in PM2.5, 35% in PM10, 32% in CO, 28% in SO2, and 17.5% in NH3....Winter season (November-February) accounted for a low fire count whereas the pre-monsoon season (March-April) accounted for a high fire count in Nepal....Wildfire contributed to high levels of pollution during March and April 2021 as it accounted for high fire counts where maximum UV-AAI was 0.8315, and CO and NO2 column number density were 0.067 mol m-2 and 4.1204 × 10-5μmol m-2 respectively.

Synergistic hybrid carbonization, dilution effects, and physical barrier effects impart EP with highly improved fire safety....The resulting EP/ZTA composite with only 5 wt% ZTA can rapidly self-extinguish and achieve a UL-94 V0 rating, while simultaneously exhibits an impressive suppression in fire growth rate (-61.7 %), peak of heat release rate (-53.8 %), and peak of smoke release rate (-44.2 %).
