Osteonecrosis involving the permanent tooth germ in primary dentition is a rare condition that can affect dental and maxillofacial development without correct intervention....This case report presents the successful recovery from drug-induced mandibular osteonecrosis involving the permanent tooth germ in a child....The treatment plans involved sequestrectomy without extended curettage and removal of the affected permanent tooth germ with systemic antibiotic therapy.

Functionally, we demonstrated that CDP-specific DLX6-AS1 enhanced odontoblastic differentiation in human tooth germ mesenchymal cells and dental pulp stem cells.

Notably, extracellular vesicle-mediated interactions between the mandible and tooth germ are considered essential. Here, we revealed that mandible extracellular vesicles could modulate the proliferation and differentiation of dental mesenchymal cells by regulating the histone demethylase KDM2B.

During tooth development, the tooth germ begins with an invagination of the epithelium, and its morphology matures through dynamic interactions between epithelial cells and mesenchymal cells, suggesting that mechanosensors may play an important role in this process.

Among the first pregnant women screened for this trial, 48% underwent invasive tests, while 52% relied on non-invasive tooth germ imaging for fetal XLHED diagnosis.

Background: The aim was to fully automate molar teeth developmental staging and to comprehensively analyze a wide range of deep learning models' performances for molar tooth germ detection on panoramic radiographs.

Differentiation and proliferation of odontogenic cells are regulated by specific genes, driving the morphological changes during tooth germ development.

RNA sequencing analysis of the first molar tooth germ at birth revealed that 33.7% of known amelogenesis-related genes were significantly downregulated in the Kmt2d-cKO teeth. Integration with KMT2D CUT&RUN sequencing results identified 8 overlapping genes directly targeted by KMT2D.

Objectives: This study aimed to explore the potential of tooth germ stem cells for regenerating tooth-like structures by subcutaneously implanting first molar tooth germ stem cells over the masseter muscle in mice....At gestational day 14 (E14), the fetuses were extracted, and the first molar tooth germ at the cap stage was isolated. Tooth germ stem cells were prepared into a suspension and seeded onto scaffolds, which were then implanted subcutaneously over the masseter muscle in male mice....The combined immunohistochemical results for vimentin and CK confirmed the ecto-mesenchymal origin of the regenerated tissue, which resembled a late bell-stage tooth germ observed around gestational days 17.5-18 and showed early indications of dentin formation (D0)....Conclusion: The study indicates that tooth germ stem cells may have the potential to produce dense, tooth-like structures when implanted subcutaneously in mice....These findings provide preliminary insights into the possible applications of tooth germ stem cells in regenerative dental tissue engineering.
