The choice of supernumerary nostril reconstruction technique is adjusted to the patient's clinical manifestations. This study evaluated a case of 12-year-old male patient with an additional nostril on the right side of the normal nostril since birth....The patient was diagnosed with a functional supernumerary nostril and treated with nasal reconstruction. Functional supernumerary nostril reconstruction is considered to be functional, cosmetic, and psychosocial development.

Introduction: A supernumerary nostril is one of the rarest congenital nasal abnormalities. Recently we encountered a 16-months-old patient with 3 supernumerary nostrils that was located at left side of the nose and performed an operation on this case....We reported a rare case of three supernumerary nostril located at left side of the nose. Case presentation: A 14-month-old male baby was referred to our clinic for assessment of a nose deformity....Conclusion: Surgical technique performed at this rare supernumerary nostril case was fistulectomy of the accessory nasal tract, followed by nostril reconstruction good functions, aesthetic results post operatively.

BACKGROUND Choanal atresia with a supernumerary nostril located on the columella is extremely rare. Infants are obligate nasal breathers because the oral airway is invariably blocked during calm respiration....She had retractive breathing, cyanosis, and a supernumerary nostril at birth. She had no other anomalies. Computed tomography showed bilateral membranous choanal atresia....CONCLUSIONS A very rare case of choanal atresia with a supernumerary nostril located on the columella was described. A mouthpiece was effective for breathing, obviating the need for emergency surgical intervention in the early postnatal period.

The operation was performed with the following steps: alar base and open rhinoplasty incisions were performed to widen the surgical field of view....The authors were able to obtain satisfactory aesthetic and functional effects by performing separate surgical methods for a supernumerary nostril with large additional nasal cavities in an adult.
