Purpose: To date, the survival benefits of multiple radioactive iodine therapies (RAIT) in RAI-avid pulmonary micrometastatic differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) remain debatable....Methods: Patients with RAI-avid pulmonary micrometastatic DTC were included and divided into either o-RAIT or m-RAIT group according to the number of RAIT cycles....Results: A total of 117 patients with RAI-avid pulmonary micrometastatic DTC were retrospectively included, with 38 (32.5%) from o-RAIT and 79 (67.5%) from m-RAIT....Conclusions: In patients with RAI-avid pulmonary micrometastatic DTC, o-RAIT exhibited non-inferior PFS benefits compared with m-RAIT, suggesting the "less is more" management strategy of RAIT towards such patients.

In the pulmonary micrometastatic niche of patients with ovarian cancer, alveolar epithelial stem-like cells were found adjacent to ovarian cancer. Moreover, angiotensin-converting enzyme 2, a host-side receptor for SARS-CoV-2, was expressed in these alveolar epithelial stem-like cells.

Successful detection and delineation of pulmonary micrometastatic lesions as small as 200 μm, corroborated by histology, immunohistochemistry, and bioluminescence imaging confirmed the suitability of both TF as a target and αTF-SERRS-NPs as an effective contrast agent for imaging breast cancer lung metastases

Along these lines, miR-181a expression was essential in driving pulmonary micrometastatic outgrowth and enhancing the lethality of late-stage mammary tumors in mice.

The number of pulmonary micrometastatic foci in the genistein group was significantly lower compared with the control group (12.3 +/- 1.8 vs 16.6 +/- 2.6, P < 0.05).

We collected and compared data between the pulmonary micrometastatic and non-metastatic groups based on several factors. The non-parametric, Mann-Whitney, Kaplan-Meier and log-rank tests were used.

Mean area of the pulmonary micrometastatic foci was determined for mice from each group. Results: Primary tumor size and weight were not significantly different among groups.

In vivo antitumor activity of TIL was tested by the adoptive transfer of suboptimal doses of TIL plus systemic rIL-2 to mice with pulmonary micrometastatic disease.

Histopathologically it was determined that immunization with these vaccines prevented the progressive growth of pulmonary micrometastatic foci approximately 0.1 mm in diameter.
