CDs have brought a new challenge for the pesticide detection. Various kinds of optical sensors based on CDs have been employed to detect IRs with the merits of good sensitivity, rapidity, convenience, efficiency and selection.

Due to biological and behavioral factors, children are vulnerable to chronic pesticide exposure at a time when brain development is critical....For inclusion, studies required a measurement of pesticide exposure and neurodevelopmental outcomes using a standardized tool and study participants ≤18 years within an LMIC, as determined by World Bank criteria....An adverse association was found between pesticide exposure and at least one domain of neurodevelopment in 23 studies, including 12 studies with child-level measurements, 10 studies with maternal measurements in pregnancy, and one questionnaire-based study....Due to the heterogeneity of existing data, we were unable to quantify the relationship between pesticide exposure and neurodevelopment....Conclusions: While studies suggest that some domains of neurodevelopment may be negatively associated with pesticide exposure, extrapolation is limited due to the challenges in measuring pesticide exposure within these contexts and differing study designs.

Synthetic pesticide use is a major driver of pollinator declines in agricultural landscapes. To understand the impact of pesticides, it is essential to quantify residues in food resources and in insects themselves.

The pesticide loading capacity of the prepared FIP@SC-TZ was 15.6%. Notably, the cumulative release of FIP@SC-TZ at pH 2 was 86.2%. The contact angle of FIP@SC-TZ on cabbage leaves was 63°, and the flush resistance of FIP@SC-TZ was 67.7%, 1.3 times higher than that of FIP alone....Conclusions: Consequently, FIP@SC-TZ offered a new approach for pH-responsive and foliar adhesive pesticide delivery system, facilitating the use efficiency of pesticides and showing promising potential for sustainable agriculture and clean production. © 2025 Society of Chemical Industry

Controlling branch orientation is a central challenge in tree fruit production, as it impacts light interception, pesticide use, fruit quality, yield, and labor costs.

Pesticide mineralisation assays and quantitative PCR targeting pesticide catabolic genes showed that the microbial community, upon feeding on the pesticide-contaminated wastewater, rapidly evolved into a pesticide-degrading microbiome....We conclude that IS1071 supports the rapid establishment of pesticide catabolism in the BPS microbiome, highlighting the contribution of IS elements to microbial community adaptation to environmental changes.

Purpose: To describe the development of a pesticide metric for Washington State and to evaluate the associations between pesticide exposure and sociodemographic characteristics of census tracts....These data were overlayed with state- and county-level estimated annual agricultural pesticide use to estimate pesticide exposure at the census tract level....Generalized additive models evaluated the associations between pesticide exposure and each of the SVI variables. Results: The median exposure to pesticides was 1.5 lbs/sq mi....Conclusions: The results inform public health and policy efforts to identify areas and populations that are most vulnerable to pesticide exposure and improve the health and wellbeing of farmworkers and populations residing near agricultural areas. https://doi.org/10.1289/EHP15686.

Glucosinolate transporters (GTR1/GTR2) mediate glucosinolate uptake and transport but remain unexplored for pesticide uptake. In this study, we synthesized an artificial glucosinolate (FIP-GSL) with fipronil as the substituent group....These findings demonstrate that exploiting GTR1 and GTR2 to enhance pesticide uptake and translocation could offer a promising strategy for improving the systemic activity of agrochemicals.
