We present here a variety of 1D grating structures composed of bulk transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) WS2 as a highly tunable and versatile platform for observation of a multi-level polaritonic system.

Herein, we report a breakthrough by spatially confining the initiation function, enabling the unprecedentedly rapid formation of predesigned submicron-ordered grating structures within merely 0.75 s under visible light holographic exposure....This approach is highly versatile, facilitating the fabrication of both transmission- and reflection-type volume holographic grating structures starting from various reaction systems, and the refractive index modulation can be as high as 0.10, enabling ultraefficient manufacturing of waveguide combiners

Herein, the impact of grating structures on PSCs is systematically investigated from three aspects, including light field simulation, experimental verification, and performance analysis....Experimental validation confirms that the grating structures significantly enhance light absorption of PSCs, leading to increasing the short-circuit current density from 23.89 to 25.38 mA cm-2 and improving the PCE from 22.45% to 24.63%....Overall, the work highlights the enormous potential of grating structures in enhancing the PCE of ultrathin PSC (PVK under 500 nm) and decreasing the cost simultaneously, which provides a way for the commercialization of efficient and stable PSCs.

The lens is formed with liquid crystals grating structures act as a converging lens for right-handed circularly polarized light and a diverging lens for left-handed circularly polarized light resulting in positive and negative defocus for unpolarized incident light.

The unprecedented wide optical bandwidth is achieved without using bottom metal reflectors or the etching of grating structures on the lithium niobate material.

Herein, we systematically study anisotropic, 3D-architected grating structures with polarization-tunable optical properties, inspired by the vivid blue of Morpho butterfly wings.

Herein, a self-powered PSPPD with buried grating structures induced by ultrafast laser direct writing is designed. Remarkably, polarization detection can be achieved without the assistance of conventional optical and mechanical structures....Notably, the raising/falling time is less than 2 µs, which is one of the shortest response times among PSPPDs with grating structures to the best of this knowledge.

Subwavelength grating structures are widely used in integrated optical devices due to their compact footprints and flexible refractive index tailoring. In this paper, we present a subwavelength grating (SWG) coupler for a 70-nm-thick silicon waveguide without the upper cladding.

The introduction of curved grating structures facilitates guided mode resonances by coupling high-order diffracted waves with leaking modes from the waveguide. These gratings act as wavelength-selective mirrors and support concentric circular radial-guided modes.

Here, we report on a room-temperature study on the interaction of tungsten disulfide (WS2) monolayer excitons with a hybrid plasmon polariton (HPP) mode supported by nanogroove grating structures milled into single-crystalline silver flakes....The possibility to balance the field confinement and losses render nanogroove grating structures an attractive platform for future applications.
