Bacterial abundance and antimicrobial resistance prevalence carried by adult house flies (Diptera: Muscidae) at Kansas dairy and beef cattle operations

家蝇(Musca domestica L.)是全球城乡环境中滋生的卫生害虫。它们频繁接触富含微生物的基质,以满足营养和繁殖需求,并通过携带和传播病原菌及抗菌药物耐药细菌(AMR)对人类和动物健康构成风险。本文从堪萨斯州的牛肉和奶牛养殖场收集成年家蝇,评估影响细菌丰度和抗性发生率的因素。在非选择性培养基(胰蛋白大豆琼脂)和选择性培养基(紫红胆盐琼脂VRBA)上分别对家蝇匀浆液中的需氧可培养菌群和疑似大肠杆菌进行计数。从SC分离株的独特形态中筛选四环素抗性,并测试另外4种抗生素以识别多重耐药(MDR)分离株。雌性家蝇携带的可培养细菌和SC数量高于雄性家蝇。环境因素如空气温度和土壤温度与家蝇中的可培养菌群和SC丰度相关,但农场类型仅与SC丰度相关,并且在SC分离株中观察到抗性的表型趋势。来自两种农场类型的雄性和雌性家蝇携带了一种或多种AMR和MDR SC分离株(73.02% AMR和31.09% MDR)。大多数的AMR和MDR细菌是大肠杆菌/志贺菌,它们在我们的研究中表现出最广泛的表型抗性变异。我们的结果进一步强调了家蝇在家蓄积可能对人类和动物健康构成风险的细菌中的作用,并确定了一些潜在的因素,可用于开发策略以减少封闭式养牛场内家蝇传播细菌病原体和AMR的情况。
