The main properties of the transient evolution and steady-state generation of fiber lasers with polarization domains of radiation in the laser resonator are investigated based on the constructed Lyapunov functional. The direction of the transient evolution is determined without restrictions on the parameters of the lasing model used and the initial conditions of the transient process. The obtained results are in good agreement with experimental data on the formation of laser radiation polarization domains and domain walls separating these domains from each other.
